Players to watch
- Jay Card III (United States) – Card battled through tough conditions and various delays in Quito to claim his first career win as a professional at the KIA Open. With the win, Card moves to No. 2 in the Fortinet Cup points list and secures exempt status on PGA TOUR Americas through the 2026 Latin America Swing.
- Maxwell Moldovan (United States) – After a rookie season where Moldovan missed eight cuts in nine starts, the second-year pro broke through for his first professional win at the 70th ECP Brazil Open. Moldovan followed up his win with a T9 finish at the KIA Open.
- Ryan Grider (United States) – In his PGA TOUR Americas debut, Grider claimed his first victory as a professional in his 12th PGA TOUR-sanctioned event at the 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich in Cordoba, Argentina. Grider has not missed a cut this season and maintains his hold of the No. 1 spot.
- Michael Brennan (United States) – Brennan picked up where he left off in 2024, starting the season with a T3 finish at the 93 Abierto Telecom del Centro presentado por Zurich and a T4 finish at the 70th ECP Brazil Open. Brennan, a Fortinet Ambassador, made his third consecutive cut and finished T26 in Quito.
- Mateo Fernandez de Oliveira (Argentina) – Oliveira, a Fortinet Ambassador, has two top-15 finishes through three events and currently sits at No. 19 in the Fortinet Cup.
- Joey Savoie (Canada) – Savoie, who returns as a Fortinet Ambassador, registered his first top-10 of the season at the 70th ECP Brazil Open. No. 13 player in the 2024 Fortinet Cup, Savoie posted eight top-25 finishes on PGA TOUR Americas last season.
- Ricardo Celia (Colombia) – Celia moved up to No. 4 in the Fortinet Cup after a runner-up finish at the KIA Open. Through three events, Celia is the top Latin in the Fortinet Cup points list.
- Patrick Sparks (a) (Peru) – Sparks headlines the group of five Peruvians in the field. The runner-up at the 2025 Latin America Amateur Championship played collegiately at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and will be making his first PGA TOUR-sanctioned start at the 2025 Diners Club Peru Open.
- Fred Biondi (Brazil) – Biondi is making his second start on PGA TOUR Americas after making his debut at the 70th ECP Brazil Open, where he finished T45. Biondi earned a spot in this week’s field through open qualifying.
Tournament history
Los Inkas Golf Club has hosted the Diners Club Peru Open 11 times (2012-19, 2022-24). This week’s field includes past champions Rodolfo Cazaubon (2015) and Marcos Montenegro (2023). Notable past participants of the Diners Club Peru Open include 2018 Champion and current PGA TOUR member Harry Higgs, as well as TOUR member Nico Echavarria.
Fortinet Cup overview
The Diners Club Peru Open is the fourth event of the Latin America Swing (Segment I) and the 2025 PGA TOUR Americas season. Segment I is comprised of six events in Latin America across six countries. After Segment I, the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup standings will retain status for the in North America Swing (Segment II). Membership for Segment II will include the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup, players who earn exempt status through PGA TOUR Americas Mid-Season Q-School and players 11-25 in the 2025 PGA TOUR University Ranking.
